Using the Family Finder genetic genealogy test from Family Tree DNA we have started to supplement the paper documentation to Owen Cottrell’s family tree. Every family has its brick walls where paper trails are missing or not available and the Cottrell family is no exception. So far I have seven genetic matches with descendants of the ancestors of Owen Cottrell helping prove relationships.
Using a technique called triangulation we are rapidly gaining adequate evidence to prove previously undocumented relationships. I am offering these free tests because proper documentation of our genetic heritage is essential if our research is to be truly useful to future generations.
